5 Things to Remember While Wearing Skirts to Office

Skirts may be the most feminine garments out there (unless you’re Scottish!), but they sure can help women make a tastefully bold stance. Fashion conscious women stock them in large numbers, but ironically, not many know how to select and wear skirts that add to their charisma, not steal away every ounce of it. To help, this post shares 5 useful tips to wear skirts to office. Let’s begin.

Skirts to Office: Pull ’em Off with Grace

1. It’s all in the “Heels”

advisable to stick to black, and consider adding a few stockings to the mix. Pointy and wedge heels are ideal to pair with office wear. The sampling below is a fair example of an ideal choice.

2. …And The Hair Too!

Assuming you’d go for a contemporary look with a formal skirt and pointy dark heels, you can top off that look with half tied hair, a bun or poker straight hair. If you have curly hair and you like it that way, make sure the curls look fresh and the rest of you look super groomed. If not carried with care, curls may lend a casual look that would not go too well with your formal attire.

3. Pair with the Right Tops

Hold that temptation to wear your favorite shirt with the skirt. In a workplace, you want your colleagues and seniors to look at a business oriented, career focused, professional, and a casual top may wreck the case. A dark colored blazer, cardigan sweater or a formal blouse, on the other hand, are safe bets, and so are formal shirts. In addition, if you do not have a business suit, as yet, it is about time you add one to the wardrobe.

4. Favor Simplicity

When it comes to office wear, though it is advisable to wear skirts that are downright straight forward, you may experiment a bit, especially on Fridays (if your employer encourages the trend). If you go by the books, a plain black or blue skirt, such as the one below, fits the bill perfectly. If you wore this one to the office, it is sure to lend a sophisticated appeal commanding authority.

5. Own the Attire

You may have the best designers in the country at your disposal and have them tailor up something that: fits like a dream, has all the colors and stitches in order, and highlights all your plusses whilst hiding the flaws – but if you don’t carry it right, having all of it won’t do much good. When dressed in business formals, you need to pair that with a confident stride and posture and maintain eye contact during conversations.

If you don’t feel comfortable with how your legs appear in a mini, don’t wear it. Your discomfort will translate to the way you interact while wearing it and it may even cause you to feel overly self-conscious. Choose gorgeous, luxurious longer skirts or A-line skirts instead. Some of these can be “almost” minis and will still flatter you and leave you with the sense of freedom and enjoyment that comes with wearing a skirt.
